Melbourne Global Game Jam returns again in 2025 for another exciting weekend of game jam at SAE Institute in South Melbourne! Get your ticket through EventHost and join 200 game developers locally and thousands globally for 48 hours of collaborative game development, from the 24th – 26th January.
A huge thank you to our sponsors SAE, City of Port Phillip and FMOD for helping us run Global Game Jam in 2025!
Early bird tickets are now available for $79 inc. GST until January 1st or until early bird sells out. Your ticket includes catered meals from Friday night through Sunday lunch, as well as on-site PCs and Macs provided by SAE for you to use for the jam. We also have plenty of desks for those of you who would like to bring your own laptop or PC.
We also have a limited number of online-only tickets available. We really want to encourage people to attend in-person, especially newcomers to GGJ, as it is a much more collaborative and social experience. If you need an online-only ticket for health reasons and there’s no more publicly available, please email us and we’ll give you an unlock code for an online ticket.

We are looking for volunteers to assist in running a safe and engaging game jam. Volunteer duties can include:
Jammer registration
Food service handling
Running logistical errands
Escalating safety issues to the organisers
Event space setup and pack down
If you’re interested in volunteering at GGJ (rather than jamming), please fill in our Expression of Interest form linked below. Your help is greatly appreciated!

A reminder that the IGDAM end of year BBQ is on Saturday December 14th from 12pm at St Vincent Gardens. Join us for food and drinks as we close out 2024!
Thanks again to our headline sponsor FMOD and indie sponsor Sub Zero Sound for again supporting the end of year BBQ.

We’ve got dietary requirements covered, and we’ll be bringing a few marquees for shade. Feel free to bring your own outdoor chairs, picnic rugs, etc – anything you’d bring for a relaxing afternoon at the park!
Also note that the end of year BBQ replaces our usual monthly meetup, so if you’d like to catch up with folks in December, the BBQ is the event to register for.
See you all there,
June
